Here is an unique opportunity for teachers. Host Japanese visitors and
teach them English and American culture while you learn about Japan
and make a little extra money on the side!
This is how the program works. You will host Japanese visitors,
usually one at a time, who want to learn English and American culture.
The guest stays with you for one week, then goes to a new host family.
You may choose to host another visitor at that time. By staying with
multiple host families, the visitors can experience different
lifestyles, dialects, and environments during their short stay in the
U.S. A bilingual staff person is always a local phone call away.
As a host family of this program, you are expected to welcome them as
part of your family, teach 2 hours of structured English daily, and
take them with you as you go about your daily routine going to the
places you normally go (i.e. grocery store, shopping mall, etc.). In
return, you will make a new friend, and learn about Japanese culture.
You will be compensated for your expenses and time.
In order to be considered, you must:
Be a native English speaker.
Have previous teaching experience.
Be open minded.
Have a car.
Be available to take the visitor around (grocery stores, malls, etc.).
Provide them a private room and 3 meals daily.
Interested? Please fill out our host family application form for
teachers below and we will be back in touch with you as soon as
possible. If you don't have teaching experience but are still
interested in becoming a host family, please fill out our general host family application form.
To be seriously considered, please answer all questions.
